LATCA Enrollment Information

Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy is accepting applications. If the requested grade level is at capacity your child's name will be placed on the waiting list. Once you submit an application, you will be notified by phone that your student has been placed on the waiting list. 
Any student who lives in the Kansas City Missouri School District may apply to L.A.T.C.A. Students are selected based on a random lottery drawing according to Missouri Charter School Law. 

Documentation Needed At Enrollment

  • State Birth Certificate

  • Immunization Record (Shot record) 

  • Parent ID

  • Proof of Residency requirements: (Mortgage Statement, Lease Agreement, or Deed) dated within a year.

  • Utility Bill (gas,light,or water bill) No more than 30 days old.

Important Facts Regarding Enrollment

  • No tuition 

  • Uniform dress code

  • Bus transportation available (beyond 1 mile from school)

  • Breakfast and hot lunch program available

  • After school program

  • Accredited by AdvancED/North Central Association (grades K-8)

Waiting List

LATCA continues to have a waiting list of families interested in enrolling their students every year. Any student who lives within the boundaries of the Kansas City Missouri School District has the opportunity to become enrolled in the Academy. Students who meet any of the following criteria will be given priority:

 

  • Have a sibling currently enrolled

  • Children of LATCA employees who live within the KCMSD boundary
